Strategic Planning Goals for the 2014-2015 Year

Primary Goal

As a Lead Agency for the new OBSD we will be bringing 2 new program areas on- line as of April 13th. Our expansion will include Kinship Care and Family Wellness/Support Services. We are happy to welcome Mandy Halabi as our new OBSD Manager. She returns to Chimo bringing many new skills and experiences with her and we look forward to her being a part of our great team once again!

Strategies:

  • Continue to develop relationships with service delivery agencies in our communities. These will include municipal resources, RCMP and community agencies.
  • Implement a successful management model that will include the best of what our predecessors have done in concert with complimentary policy currently employed at Chimo. New positions will include a Human Resources Manager, Finance support position, Family Wellness Workers, Family Support Worker.
  • Identify and lease sufficient and appropriate office space serving the three areas awarded. Initially it is anticipated that we will co-locate with the offices we serve. This will likely be a fairly short term arrangement no longer than six months.

Indicators:

  • Within the next fiscal year Chimo will have;
  • Established stronger working relationships with community partners with particular attention to those in our OBSD area. This could be verified with the use of stakeholder surveys
  • Will be able to better articulate our role as an OBSD lead agency. Government partners, board members and agency staff should be able to attest to this.
  • Will be delivering service and should have begun to establish finance protocol. Outcome data collected should be able to confirm this.
  • Staff will report that the agency is showing growth in the delivery of services. Staff surveys should reflect this as well as collected outcome data.
  • Board members will have developed a clear understanding of the work that is being done under the OBSD banner. Board members will be able to attest to this.

Our Accreditation Survey is Scheduled for Fall 2015!

3 years has come and gone and once again it is time for our CARF Accreditation Survey. In October we will welcome our international Survey Team. They will meet with staff, youth, families and stakeholders to learn about the services we provide. We will also share our documentation and tour them through our sites to help them get a full picture of how we do what we do. Stay tuned for our outcome. We will post it this fall. CARF Accreditation is our way of demonstrating that we are committed to continuous quality improvement!

YOUth POW3R

CHIMO was an exhibitor at YOUth POW3R, Edmonton's 2nd Annual Career and Employment Event for Youth that was held at City Hall on May 31st, 2012. The following is a music video that was produced about the event:
