Transition Homes: The Chimo Youth Retreat Centre operates 8 Group Care Transitional SIL Homes; 5 Coed Homes and 2 Homes for pregnant or parenting teens.

The Homes provide a safe and supportive environment to assist youth preparing to return home or transition into an independent or semi-independent living setting.

A hands-on approach to learning basic life skills, includes:

  • Nutrition and meal preparation
  • Personal Wellness
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Problem Solving
  • Time management
  • Study / Work Skills
  • Effective Parenting

Youth learn and understand the need to assume responsibility for their actions, identify their assets and skills and care for themselves. Once this self-responsibility is adequately internalized the youth becomes a candidate to return home or to transfer to an independent living program.

Transition Homes Program Age/Eligibility:
Youth aged 13-18 years

Referrals:
